The story behind Happy Seasons

Happy Seasons began in 2016, when two best friends wanted to make Christmas jumpers that make Christmas a little more fun.

It started with 1,000 jumpers. Today we have 8 permanent employees, sell in more than 50 countries and produce well over 300,000 products a year.

But the idea has stayed the same: we design in-house in Denmark and try to make seasonal clothing the way it should be made. More fun, softer, better and with more care.

That is why today we focus on better materials, GOTS-certified organic cotton for selected products and more responsible choices in our production.

GOTS and responsibility

We are GOTS-certified and use GOTS-certified organic cotton for selected products.

For us it is not just about how the clothes look.

They should also feel good, move well with you and be made with more care.

That is why we are constantly working on better materials, better documentation and more responsible choices in our production.

Partnership with Save the Children

Since 2024 we have worked with Save the Children.

With every order we contribute to support for families in need, and we have already donated more than €40,000 to this work.

For us, it's about Happy Seasons not only creating cosy moments for those who buy our products, but also making a small difference for those who need it.

Social responsibility does not replace responsible production

Ultimately, we only exist as long as we give our customers the best experience. And that applies to every part of the purchase: from using the website to payment methods, shipping and delivery, product quality, sizes and returns.

Without you, we would be nothing.

We wanted to do more than just sell fun jumpers. We wanted to make clothing that feels good – for you and for the planet. In 2021 we started converting our entire production to organic materials, and today more than 80% of our clothing is made from GOTS-certified organic cotton or recycled materials.

We believe in fun, quality and a clear conscience

  • We design everything ourselves, from scratch
  • We only use the best materials – without harmful chemicals
  • We do our best for every detail: from fit and print to delivery and customer service
  • We sell our soft, organic sweaters for the same price that many others charge for plastic-based acrylic

We make things that are meant to make people's lives a little more fun.

That's why it's important that the journey is fun for us. Otherwise there would be plenty of other things to fill your life with.

We do this because we don't want to do anything else.

FAQ

Who is behind Happy Seasons?

Happy Seasons was founded in Denmark in 2016 by two best friends who wanted to make Christmas jumpers that make Christmas a little more fun.

It started with about 1,000 jumpers. Today Happy Seasons has grown to 8 permanent employees, more than 300,000 products produced and sold per year, and sales in more than 50 countries.

Although a lot has changed, the starting point has stayed the same. We design our collections ourselves in Denmark and work on seasonal clothing that is more fun, softer, better and more responsibly made.

Why choose Happy Seasons?

Choose Happy Seasons if you want seasonal clothing with original designs, great comfort and more care behind the product.

We design our collections ourselves in Denmark, work with GOTS-certified organic cotton for selected products and have a permanent partnership with Save the Children, where every order contributes to helping families in need.

For us it is not just about clothing that looks festive. It should also feel good, fit well and be made with more responsibility than you are used to from seasonal clothing.

Are all your products GOTS-certified?

No. Not all products at Happy Seasons are GOTS-certified.

For selected products we use GOTS-certified organic cotton. The product page always states whether a product is made with GOTS-certified organic cotton.

We use different materials depending on the function, comfort and look of the product. What connects our work is that we continually try to choose better materials, better documentation and more responsible solutions where it makes sense.

What does GOTS-certified organic cotton mean?

GOTS is one of the most recognised standards for organic textiles.

When a product is made with GOTS-certified organic cotton, it means that the cotton and the production must meet requirements on organic farming, chemical use, traceability and social conditions in production, among other things.

For us, GOTS matters because it is a verifiable way of working with organic materials. It is not just a loose claim that something is "green" or "sustainable".

How exactly do you support Save the Children?

We have a permanent partnership with Save the Children, where every order at Happy Seasons contributes to help for families in need.

Since the start of the partnership we have donated more than €40,000 to Save the Children.

The support can go towards meals, school supplies, necessities or other help for children and families where the need is greatest.

When did the partnership with Save the Children begin?

Our permanent partnership with Save the Children began in 2024.

Before that we also supported other charities and initiatives, but with Save the Children we chose a more permanent and longer-term partnership.

That fits our brand well, because Christmas and seasonal clothing are all about family, warmth and traditions for us. So it makes sense that part of our work also helps children and families who need support.

Where does the support go?

Our contribution goes to Save the Children's work for children and families in need.

The funds are used where the need is greatest. Think of emergency aid, meals, school supplies, efforts that provide safety or other necessities for children and families in difficult situations.

What matters most to us is that the support goes through an organisation with experience, structure and knowledge of where help makes the biggest difference.

How do you make sure CSR work isn't just marketing?

We have made our partnership with Save the Children a permanent part of our business, not just a temporary campaign.

That means every order contributes and the support does not depend on one-off campaigns or special periods.

At the same time, we are open about the partnership, the amounts and the purpose. For us, CSR is not something to decorate the front page with. It has to be a real part of how we run Happy Seasons.

Does the partnership with Save the Children cost the customer anything extra?

No. Our contribution to Save the Children is funded by us as a company.

It is not added to the price as an extra surcharge.

When you buy from Happy Seasons, the support is already part of how we do business. That means every order can make a difference, without costing you anything extra.

Why do you work with both GOTS and Save the Children?

Because we believe a modern seasonal brand should take responsibility on several levels.

GOTS is about materials, documentation and production for selected products.

Save the Children is about us also using our business to support children and families in need.

Together with Danish design and our own collections, that is an important part of our purpose: making seasonal clothing that is not only fun to wear, but also made with more care.

Don't you just do that to sell more?

No. We do it because we believe it is the right way to run a business.

We make money, as a business should. But we don't think profit should be the only thing that drives our decisions. There is already plenty of cheap clothing on the market, where price often outweighs materials, quality and responsibility.

At Happy Seasons we have chosen a different path.

Every year we spend more than €530,000 extra on production so that a large share of our products are made from organic cotton instead of cheaper alternatives such as acrylic, polyester or conventional cotton. At the same time, we sell our products at the same price level as when our production still relied largely on acrylic.

We also donate money to Save the Children every year, because we believe a company should take responsibility for more than its own profit.

Could we have earned more by choosing cheaper materials, cutting the donations and squeezing more profit out of every product? Yes, absolutely.

But that is not the company we want to build.

Our goal is to win in our own way: with better products, more responsible choices and a moral compass we can stand behind.
